2 and a half years with the odd break due to injury or illness. Only really got into it from Sep of 2002 onwards. Don't know as to my hours on the water but all I do know is that it's never enough

well...I started lessons in 2006, some in 2007, and finished in 2008. Mostly due to living in a light wind area, and having to work around a 5 hour program that is broken down to (5) 1-hour lessons. Not to mention I was traveling almost 2 hours across the metroplex for these lessons. Bought my first kite in 2007, and actually air'd it up in 08. LOL
Things are moving pretty fast now. I ditched this instructor for several reasons, one of which the guy was kind of a jerk. Since, I found a school 15 minutes away that teaches 15 minutes away at my local lake. Not to mention this lake is MUCH more safe for kiting. My wife has started lessons with him as well. We are stoked!
