Kitesurfing @ Playa Copal, Bahia Salinas

This beach is the only one in the bay with on-side shore wind, very reccomended for a kite surfer.
It's length is 1 KM and a half and the access to the sea is without waves.
Bahia Salinas is blessed with consistenly strong wind from Mid-November through April.
During these months the consistent easterly trades crossing the Carraïbean are reinforced by the strong north-easterlies blowing down from the Gulf of Mexico.
The wind is side-on to on-shore.
This bay is among the 10 windiest spots in the world.
From the beginning of November to the end of May and July as well, it's just fantastic:
you can kitesurf almost 90% of the days!
In the other 4 months of the year you can kitesurf 50% of the days...not bad anyway.
The windiest months are January and February with an average of 23 knots!
These are the other recent monthly averages:
November 17 knots, December 22 knots, March 19 knots, April 17 knots,
May 16 knots, June 12 knots, July 18 knots.
Bahia Salinas is completely empty (without boats or obstacles) perfect for kite surfing
and its water is warm and shallow.
It is located in the province of Guanacaste that is the sunniest side of the country.
Around the bay there are the most beautiful and unknown beaches of Costa Rica.
In the middle of the bay there is an island with a white beach,
famous to be an important nesting birds place.

Other spots: Lake Arenal, Hermosa, Panama Beach,...
