Post subject: Windy Holiday destinations by month
PostPosted: Tue Nov 30, 2004 2:34 pm
I reckon this forum needs a good holiday list. An ordered list of the best places to kitesurf during each month. This is not somewhere that owners of kiteschools should pimp their destination all year round and so please only put the 3 BEST months that are 75% likely to get out every day, are not freezing, nor in monsoon and will make a great holiday.

Your posts would be appreciated: but hey ONLY THE 3 BEST MONTHS per spot: I'll start off.

January
Cape Verde, Western Oz, South Africa, La ventana-mexico, Boracay-philipines,

February
Cape Verde, Margarita, Western Oz, Melbourne, Hua Hin - Thailand, South Africa, La ventana-mexico, Boracay-philipines,

March
Egypt, margarita, Hua Hin - Thailand, South Africa, La ventana-mexico, Boracay-philipines,

April
Egypt, margarita, Hua Hin - Thailand,

May
UK

June
Fuerteventura, Tenerife

July
Cabarete, Tarifa, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Paros-Greece,

August
Cabarete, Tarifa, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Brazil, Paros-Greece,

September
Cabarete, Egypt, Brazil, Paros-Greece, UK

October

November

if the listings above are wrong please post too with a correction.

This will be very useful for us all so please be honest and think about it a bit.

In Chile you have almost 12 Months of wind in Puclaro
Winter 15-25 summer 20-30, it is not a fancy place. Very rustic, but incredible wind conditions.

Serch MECA, and you will find a review

Hi,

I suggested that for kitebeaches a while ago. Real valuable info. Add water type (hard-core waves/free ride) & wind strength and it would be perfect ;-)

It is a great idea, and kitebeaches should have it... the question every one wants to know is where is the cloest place to them where its the windy season during X month.

The info on kitebeaches.com is not always accurate, as people submit the info who want to bring tourist to their spot.
Last year when I returned from Brasil in February after we have had the heaviest rains and wind less than half the time I read kiteaches.com and it said bullshit, like rain only in the night, wind pretty much every day...

Hi!

Remove Guincho-Portugal from September and put it in June/July for 8m-12m kites 1m waves advanced-user windsurf/kite spot. It's a small beach, though, and wind it thermal and gusty. And there are rocks all over the place with cliffs downwind. It's by nature more a windsurf spot than a kite one.
