id say it is not a good place for a beginner, i was there a couple of years ago, and at the imtermediate stage. it was good in the mornings but got upwards of 20-25 knots in the afternoons, and the beach is long but fairly narrow, at least where I was at full moon resort. Spent a lot of afternoons sitting on the beach watching the experts...

I have to disagree with the previous statement.

When I went to mui ne, I was an 'advanced' beginner (I could more or less ride downwind). During my two weeks in Mui Ne I really progressed a lot. The wind starts at 9am. You can ride up to 12am. Then between 12am and 3 pm you can forget it and watch the experts. But from 3pm to 6 pm the wind goes down and you can ride again. The bay is huge so you can go downwind and at end guys from a Kite school help you to put your kite down. Then locals drive you back to the start for a small amount of money. At the full beach club that are always someone to help you to lauch the kite. I definitively recommand this place to everybody
