Kiting in Oz and New Zealand (North Island ) April/May/June

Postby Fuzzy » Thu Nov 03, 2005 4:18 pm

I am going to Oz and New Zealand in April May June 06 .I want to travel up the west coast and down the North east coast of Oz and then around the north island in New Zealand and would appreciate any info on which way round to do it ? e.g. oz first N.Z. second as I know we are getting in to there winters at that time of year and the reason to go is to kitesurf first and culture second.
Cheers Fuzzy. 8)

hi fuzzy,

unfortunately for nzl you have picked the most unreliable time of the year for wind.
daylight is also fading fast after april... it will be still warm enough in the north island, but better be prepared to drive a lot to chase some wind.
if you just travel around to see things and are hoping for some wind on the way you might be disappointed.

australia in general will be warmer so i would suggest doing nzl first.

good luck with your trip.

Fuzzy, Sorry mate but Melbourne's season is pretty much all done by that time of year. Northeast Australia (Queensland) may be possible?
