Continental now has non-stops from Houston to Bonaire and
Aruba. They run once a week.

Thanks, I found them now. I'd just been searched expedia for a specific date, didn't think there might only be a once a week flight.

stay away from Bonaire...not kite friendly in Lac Bay. And kiting with offshore winds is flat out unsafe.
Why???
Place Sucks.....I've kited EVERYWHERE..Brazil, DR, CR, MEX, US....all over..

bonaire is no good cause no beaches.....and they banned kiting in only good spot...

illibilli - did you kite atlantis? as for being dangerous, is there rescue
there? did anyone ever have a bad situation?

To me it sounds like not a beginner place, but a lot of good places are off shore.

There is rescue service on Atlantis :)
I think it is a perfect spot for beginners. No chance of getting draged onshore. While learning it is also nice to have a 1000-2000 meter run and then being picked up by the boat. You will learn much faster that way because you will not use you time on walking in the water or on the beach.
You can also have lessons where an instructor in the boat follows you and guides you.

I loved the Atlantis spot. Nice flat water and nice people.

Scubacore is wrong....dead ass wrong...Nice people (stephan and roway...definitely nice people) but u want to kite....u can meet nice people anywhere....if ur going to kite then its a hostile place...
beginners should not kite in offshore winds...In fact no one should kite in offshore winds...what if rescue boat breaks down?? u'r DONE!!
YES i kited Atlantis......its the ONLY place on Bonaire to kite...Pink Beach is not a beach...there are NO BEACHES...so u'r feet will get shredded...
no beach...i mean barely...some sand then u'r walking on sharp rocks to get to water....
If u'r going to dive...or some other reason?? then thats u'r decision. But if you expect nice kiting then forget it...u will be dissapointed...
just stand warned...
I TOLD U SO!!
