Bull Island / Dollymount kiting?

So...the wife is on a business trip to Dublin next month (late April). I'm thinking of going and with a little kitebeaches.com reasearch found that Dollymount seems to be quite a good kite beach! I was surprised to find this nice looking stretch of sand so close to Dublin and also happy to see on the windguru historicals that I seem to have a better than 50% chance of wind if I bring my gear.
Which begs the question, should I bring my gear?
Never been to Dublin before, and I figure this is a great way to meet the locals while she is in meetings all day. Don't know how much of a deal it would be to get down there and such, though, without a car. Would a bus or taxi take me (and a large kite golf bag) within a short walk of the beach?
Any thoughts on kiting here would be appreciated. Since I'm not sure of the wind quality (gustiness) and good directions, you could let me know if its really worth it or not. Also, if there is a local kite shop that offers demos; I could always bring my wetsuit and harness, pay for a demo, and leave the heavy stuff at home....
Thanks for any help,
-todd
Or maybe I should just avoid all the trouble and park myself on a pub stool.
