Went to Punta Cana (about 1 hour NE from La Romana) several years ago. Wind was consistent side shore but light (20M-16M) at Christmas. Drove through La Romana and looked at several hotels. The area is geographically blocked to get any kiteable wind. If you can change to Punta Cana, go for it. The LTI Hotel is the best location to kite as it is on a sand point. The Hodelpa is beside it. Punta Cana is a busy beach for pedestrians but I was the only person kiting there and rode every day for 2 weeks. The waves were real nice out by the ship wreck. Don't go past the reef! Later... Tom
