HUGE PIPE ON BOZO BEACH IN CABARETE June/July 06

I have been in cabarete for about 10 days and they are putting this huge, 1 meter diameter steel pipe and welding it together. It is currently about 500meter long and growing. They are going to use it to bring sand in to increased the size of the beach but right now it extends from the point where the Nanny Estate is to past Laurel Eastman kiteboarding. It is pretty tough to kite in those places or launch as there are cranes and bulldozers everywhere. It sounds like they are gonna stop work for the PKRA and then resume. It isn't affecting kitebeach, but please take note if thinking of traveling to cabarete and check with the locals on access first as beach access is currently pretty limited.
