I have received a few PMs asking for more detailed information about my travel costs. Please find below an indication of the individual cost items. Please note that all prices in Brazil are negotiable. So if you are good at it you will save quite a bit. The below prices are indicative. So there is room for negotiation. I just thought it would be better to give the average prices rather than the lowest prices.
I have excluded domestic flights. In case you have to book these, have a look at
http://www.voegol.com.br and
http://www.tam.com.br (the first one tends to be cheaper).
Taxi Airport - Paracuru: R$80
Buggy Paracuru: R$70 per day
Hotel Club Tropical: R$100 for the suite incl. breakfast
4WD drive from Paracuru - Prea: R$600 (incl. drinks, lunch, all the filming support)
Hotels in Prea/Jeri: There is a huge choice of options for all budget sizes. From R$40 up to R$400. Most of them including breakfast. You should be getting a decent double room for R$80-100 per night including breakfast.
Average daily food expenditure: R$40-R$50 (lunch, dinner and all soft drinks/beer/water consumed during the day. There are cheaper options).
Buggy rides from Jeri - Prea after the downwinders: R$40. This was our most used option.
Buggy rides from Prea - Jeri - Prea during the nights out in the evenigns: R$60 if the driver has to wait up to 3 hours. R$80 if the driver has to wait or return after more than 3 hours. Note that we were always able to use a buggy for 4 passengers (even with 4 x kite gear - they just put it on the roof of the buggy and off they go).
Buggy day rides: R$100-120. That is the driver stays the whole day with you and drives to the lagoons, up wind or whereever you want.
I hope this helps,
P
