Can anyone who's familiar with the area give me any pointers on places to set up camp, between Cumbuco & Jere.

I am trying to work out an itinery & finding a map of the region seems to be impossible, but i think the main spots are Cumbuco / Paracura / Prea / Jere.

Any ideas? :-?

Where to set up camp...

Do you mean "set up camp" literally, like pitching a tent - or just figuratively, like where to stay?

Just book a flight to Fortaleza and a place to stay in Cumbuco. When you're there it's easy to arange the rest of your trip. If you've any questions about cumbuco contact Robert from http://www.cumbuco.nl.

good luck

No...sorry i don't mean camping. Just trying to work out where i'm going to stay & when.

I would like to stay @ Prea & Jere, but think that it may be quiet in the evening at Prea but more lively @ Jere. Although i think there is no kiting going on at Jere and you would have to get a buggy or 4x4 to Prea. Is this correct?

Can buggys be arranged in Jere? Or is it possible to hook up with others in Jere travelling to Prea daily?

At the moment i'm going to stay in Cumbuco for a couple of weeks, but wish to make my way North & spend Xmas in Jere.

Hey murphysegg,

Prea is indeed a quiet fishing village, there are a couple of restaurants on the beach, and some are open at night, but there aren't any clubs or bars open 'til dawn in town. You really have two options if you are going to kite in the area:

- Sleep in Jeri and drive to Prea every day, you might be able to catch a ride with the locals that come out in the morning and go back towards sunset, or schedule a return trip with a buggy driver, that will cost you between R$ 50 and R$ 70 depending on how long you stay, for up to 4 people.

- Sleep in Prea, wake up, have breakfast and kite all day. If you want to go out and party to Jeri, call a buggy to bring you there and back (R$ 50 to R$ 70 for the return trip for up to 4 people, coming back at any time of the night). It's a 15 minute ride.

Let me know if you have any other questions about the area.

Cheers,

Fred @ Vila Prea

pretty much no kiting in walking distance, unless you want to lauch in offshore winds with no rescue close by.

pm me if you need any more details about the area.
