Airlines Free Golf Bags

Postby Rolandlewis » Wed May 30, 2007 8:57 am

Hey

Traveling from Canada to Europe on several different airlines. Thinking about getting the NSI "Golf" bag so I don't get dinged surf board charges?

Anyone have any experience with this?
Cheers
RL

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks. Just ordered the bag, pick it up on tursday fly sunday Miami - Calgary - Miami, week later Miami - Vancouver - Miami.

I asked the Air Canada guys yesterday at YYZ, they told me that if the golf bag is the only bag, they won't charge.

Keep you informed, I'm curious too!

We flew from the US to Bermuda with the deceiver bag, no problem. I've borrowed the bag for this trip, but I'm going to buy one next time I need it. It's great!

Also, several of my friends used that bag and never paid extra.

Keep these reports coming. This is the kind of info that makes the most sense to me. Practical stuff that makes exploring easier and cheaper. Please inlude the various brands and models used as perhaps one has a better track record than others. Thanks and happy travels.

I also have a NSI and have had it on 10+ trips on 4 different airlines with no questions. I find it is good to look like a golfer and not like a surf rat when you check-in.

Check the airlines web site for new weight limits. They have reduced the limits because of the high cost of fuel. I have a nice executive looking carry-on that holds my 16M packed tight. Took a lot of the weight out of the NSI. Some airlines are limiting weight of carry-on too.

Don't take bar and/or lines as carry-on!!!

One check-in lady asked why the bag was so big. I told her it was because the last time their airline damaged my expensive golf clubs and they suggested my bag was not padded enough to protect the clubs. She shut-up immediately.

Made a trip from Miami to Costa Rica, checked in Curbside. No problem at all. Even when the guy asked if we were going surfing, the girlfriend friendly chipped in that it was a golfbag.

See here a suggestion to save on airline tickets....
