The Delta of Sine Saloum

It is in the area of the delta of the Sine Saloum in Senegal, situated at 150 kilometres south of Dakar, that you will have the privilege of riding in a reserve ranked as world heritage of the biosphere by UNESCO.
With Kite Aventure, discover many unique free ride spots lost in a channel of virgin islands. Ride on flat and turquoise waters blown away by the alizes downwind between 15 and 30 knots. Take off above sandbanks, surf the waves south of Jackson, or leave downwind for a day of kite ride to discover the delta. Exceptional conditions !
Saloum in Senegal, a vast play room

Earth and water embrace, the mangrove unwinds in a universe full of wild birds and animals, making the Sine Saloum region one of the most beautiful reserves in the world. The intracies of the mangrove form a labyrinth which at each bend unveils an island or a heap of a seashells, where fishermen and villagers live in harmony. Blade winds sweep these grand flat stretches of land and sea to offer fabulous conditions for kite surf or windsurf.

Here kite surfing is practised with the respect of a privileged spot full of sacred myths.

Depending on your choice of stay, in autonomy or supervised by a kite surf guide (at extra cost) Thanks to our pirogue, our bivouacs and knowledge of the site, you have secure access to many listed spots. Our downwind circuits bring you both the feeling of intense riding and the pleasure of letting you go towards a new destination. River, mangrove, sea, coast, sand islands, large arms of ocean lined with vegetation swept by regular winds, ideal for kite surf addicts !

Meteorological conditions

The dry season (November to June) is permanently accompanied by the alternance of winds of a very good frequency. The temperature of the air is an average of 25°C during the day and can go down to 18°C at night particularly due to the wind. The water in the mangrove is slightly warmer than the sea, neighbouring 23°C.
- Alize wind, from north east, to north north west by thermal effect from 12 to 25 knots.
- Harmattan wind, varying from east to north east, coming from the desert from 15 to 30 knots

The Sine Saloum is one of the windiest areas of Senegal.

On one side the river and the mangrove and on the other the sea and its islands. In the delta of the Saloum, there is always a spot adapted to the orientation of the wind and level of the kite surfer. This totally virgin and wild spot presents excellent conditions for kite surfing. You will be able to have breakfast, take off and ride in the three bays always supervised, alone with or without a security pirogue (price) on the whole area of the islands or go and discover the delta with one of our downwind circuits. In the bivouac area the wind is between 12 and 30 knots, east north east in the morning, side off and the evening thermal west north west, side off between 10 and 18 knots.
