Intercontinental Abu Soma / Surfmotion

Postby Goldmember » Sun May 10, 2009 10:53 am

Will be at the Interconti Abu Soma for a week from next Saturday and am trying to get info on where to store gear at the kite beach.

From searching on the forum, Surfmotion looks the best option, however their website link on the posts I have read (www.surfmotion.de) does not work.

Anyone been there recently and can help with advice on the kitespot and gear storage ?

Thanks !

the best option? You mean the only option!

Everything else will be a drive away: Safaga or Soma Bay 7BFT Station (stop by, and meet me there ;-) )
7BFT has best conditions, but you can make an upwinder from Interconti.

Thanks Toby.

How long a drive is it to 7BFT ? And how far going upwind ?

Any other tips?

Driving would be about 5 minutes. Upwind about 20 min I assume.

Check the distance on Google Earth.

Bring shoes for riding at Interconti...it has some corals and reefs close by. But maybe you don't need it, but better to have it.

Only 5 minutes then. Will have to drop 'round.

Thanks for the tips and maybe catch you next week.
