Tips for my surfboard shaper

Postby ITN » Sun Nov 15, 2009 9:53 pm

I've been using my regular paddle in surfboard lately to kite in the waves. My fin broke on my kite specific board. I actually greatly prefer it and was thinking of asking my shaper to replicate it with a little more strength for kiting and knows little about it . Really want him to make it as a polyester board because of the feel. He's never made a board for kiting so what tips could I give him to add some more life to the board without changing the flex pattern etc?
I know it will never match the strength of a kite specific board but I only ever ride strapless and never jump on it. (I accept I'll break it, just want to maximize it without altering performance) He's been shapIng my surfboards for 20 years and never given me a dog. Any tips from all the kiteshapers out there?

Thanks in advance!
