Looks like I'll be living/working in Cabarete for mid July - September, what would you recommend for a kite quiver? I have only a 09 Best Waroo 9M, but may look to pick up something else before I leave, any ideas? I'm a beginner but am looking to step up my kiting on this trip. Can I purchase kites there at a reasonable price?

Hi,
Great that you are coming to our little paradise. With your 9m kite you should be fine for the summer season but if you are looking for another kite I suggest you to buy it here as you can find plenty of good deals here, new or second hand. Let me know in case you have any questions.
Best regards from Hooked Cabarete

Hi,
Definately take a 12m also. I spent 6 weeks in Cabarete last summer (mid July-mid August). I used a 12m Switchblade most of the time I was there. The locals said it was unusual for it not to be 8/9m weather daily in the summer- lucky I took the 12! Many people just had 8/9s and were underpowered most of the time.
Furthermore, even on 9m days, the wind will not be at full power until 3pm is. So, if you want to ride in the lighter midday wind, you will need a 12. Same is true for sunset sessions.
Enjoy- it's an amazing place.
Luke.
