Etihad Airways about to change baggage policies

Postby chris_kitedude » Sun Jun 20, 2010 10:39 pm

hi folks!

etihad airways has been great to fly for surfers for the last years. i have been flying with them the for the last several years over abu dhabi into asia and never had any issues with them bringing my equipment up to 34kg's - well no more it seems.

i just returned from munich airport and while i checked in my gf's baggage the counter in charge told me as from the 15th of july they are about to change their baggage allowance to a mere 20kg. no tolerance allowed. every kg over 20kg will be charged (for route-c flights that include europe over abu dhabi to asia) with 25 - 45 US$ (not fixed yet), one way.

i will set up a letter to etihads office in germany. i will keep you guys posted.
