Rhodes, Greece - Wind conditions in august

Hi guys,

I'm headed to Rhodes for a week of kiting at the beginning/middle of august. In regards to that I was wondering if anyone could give me some information about what sort of winds I can expect.

The reason I ask is because I've only recently started kiting and therefore only have one kite at the moment (12m switchblade). I want to have as many days as possible on the water so I was wondering what you think the chances are that I will need to rent a smaller kite? I weigh ~80kg.

Any comments/tips are appreciated!

Sean

We're staying in Gennadi, so I think Prasionisi is where we will be most of the time.

Was 12 days in Gennadi/Prasonisi two weeks ago. I would say that a smaller kite is necessary. Mixed between my 7m2 and 11m2 myself. Since you are a beginner the 12m2 will be too big some days. There is a Cabrinha center on the beach, but I don't know if they rent kites.

I'm heading out at the end of this week. I'll take a bunch of kites :-) but wondering which board to go for.

I'm staying in the north. Is the wind forecast from windfinder reliable for this area?

Or maybe there is some thermal extra wind which makes it stronger than predicted.
