The waves are ridable and really nice to go downwind on directional board. One of my friends every year goes to Vietnam but last season he spent on the islands not far from MuiNe. He said
that it's really good place.

Exactly, Phu Quy. I forgot this name.
According the Vietnamese unfriendliness: the service leaves much to be desired, taxi drivers are stupids, no smiles on faces as I bother them or owe a lot of money. May be all of that is the result of communication barrier. Now I am in Prea and Brasilians don't know English too but I could't
say that Brasilians are unfriendly. In any case that's my opinion. :)

Looking at this mornings news headlines. There is a hostage standoff in Manila, so Vietnam definitely seems safer.

In summary it seems that Vietnam is cheaper, has better beaches for launching and landing, more reliable wind, and more diversity of riding conditions. It seems the Philippines are better for nightlife and partying, but not much else and crowded. Does this sound about right?

Is the nightlife in Mui Ne lame or is there still at least some fun bars to go to after fun kite sessions?

As long as there are some bars, music, partying in Mui Ne I am fine. I have been to some destinations, like Costa Rica, where there is NOTHING to do at night. When I am on vacation kiting, I want to party at night and work my hangover off kiting the next day. Good pics of Mui Ne.

Do you know of anyone who rented a cabana/apartment for a month? How much are they?
