Brazil November-December

I'm planning a 4 weeks kitetrip to Brazil from the end of November, start from Fortaleza and go to good kitesurf spots. The ones I know are Cumbuco, Paracuru and Prea. Are these the best ones? Any tips about accommodation?

Another thing; the kite I've mainly been using is size 11,5 (Best Kahoona). I'm 55 kg. I have another kite and it's 7. Should I buy a 9 for the trip? I only want to take one kite with me...

Thanks for all advise!

The 7m should suit you fine most days.

leia is a female? what is your weight?

December is already a bit lighter, in Cumbuco I would say 15-23 knots.
Prea has more like 30 knots.

I rather say a 9 suits a wider range and will be better.

Maybe a 7 and 9 would be a go. But if one kite, then a 9.

But tell us more about you and your style, this will also help.

Yes I'm female and weight 55 kg. I've been using the 11,5 Kahoona with winds 12-20 knots. How much is the wind in average there in north east Brazil in November - December? I've been kiting for 3 years and I do jumps but not unhooked.
What is the general prize level in accommodation?

usually the wind is still realitvely constant in Ceara - regarding the appearance of the rainy season...the windspeed for the area from:
Cumbuco to aprox. Lagoinha is 16 to 24 knots
Lagoinha to aprox. Praia da Barra: 20 to 26 knots
Praia da Barra to Camocim :22 to 28 knots

30 knots in Prea we would apprechiate but are very rare......
wind usually gets bit less beginning of jannuary

so the 11 would probably be fine for the Cumbuco area - further up the 7 will be your choice....

cheers

all kinds of prices. from 40-200 Reais a night. Beachfront always more, further back less, but all not far away from the beach, besides Paracuru, there you need transportation, but I think there is a shuttle/bus as well.

Stick with your 11 and the 7 and you will be fine..

ok, just talked to a 50kg girl who rode in Brazil as well.

She normally is on a 7m kite. So no need for a 9. And I think no need to bring your 11, as it will be windy in this time.

Enjoy!

Hello!
I am in Prea now. And the girl with 59kg goes kiting all the time with 5m Best.
The wind is from 20 to 30 knots for 3 weeks.
I use 9m Vegas and overpowered sometimes but still Ok (I am 70kg).
The best place in Prea is Kite-Brazil Hotel. www.kite-brazil.com
I have stayed there 2 times. Everything is perfect. It's not the advertising, that's truth.
There is no nightlife in Prea but you could go to Jeri (5 reais by bus and 30 minutes driving).
Also Villa Prea and Rancho de peixe are very expensive.
In Paracuru I could suggest you Paracuru Kitevillage. www.paracurukitevillage.com.
The problem of Paracuru is that Quebremar is far from town and should have a car.

Please consider, Sept and Oct are usually the strongest months, Nov-Dec are a bit less strong. And if the wind is too strong for your 7, you should find less wind in the morning and afternoon. If not, travel back to Paracuru etc, there it should be less.
