Kiteschools in Tulum/Playa Del Carmen Area and onwards

Postby Taman » Tue Dec 14, 2010 5:00 pm

I am traveling to Playa del Carmen in the Yucatan peninsula for new years and then am trying to hangout in Tulum and Mahaual for about 3 weeks before heading down through Belize etc and ending up in Costa Rica. Can anyone recommend really cheap acommodation in Tulum or Mahaul? Also can anyone recommend one kite school over the others that are down there?
Many thanks!

If you are in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the only authorized Kiteboarding school is
The school is located at the Sandos Playacar Resort in Playacar Hotel Zone, Playa del Carmen.
You can contact the school at, or call 984 134 2673.
If the wind if north, off shore on this coast, PDCK organize excursion to Isla Blanca Lagoon at IKARUS Kite camp with private transportation.

There is also 3 other beaches that we have open for experinced riders only, NO TEACHING/NO BEGINNERS, where you can launch and land and ride!!
Those 3 spots are:
Xcalacoco(in front of Petite Laffitte Resort)
Coco beach(300 meters north of the gran coco bay resort)
Playacar Fase 1(not next to Xamam ha condos like it used to be, but about 500 meters south)

You will find a sign like the following, with the rules and a map of the 4 beaches:

This is for Playa del Carmen!!
Have a nice trip!
Saludos :mosh:
