El Gouna, Egypt

Postby nix » Sun Jan 02, 2011 7:18 pm

I want to know if you can kitesurf from the beach in front of the club med in el gouna. I can't really find this info on the net. I only see that the school is 10min away from the hotel.

If not we want to go to the movenpick. How is the prices in the hotel for meals and drinks?

I think there are some windsurfers going out. Can't remember kitesurfers. Would be good to know.
Anyone?

for sure you can kite there. It's a bit gusty.
the best conditions in gouna are defenetly more up north at kiteboarding-club, redseazone or kitepower.

you can check it on www.kiteboarding-club.com .....

have fun

Movempick is a nice place IF you chose your holliday according to the high tide.

At low tide the lagon in front of the Movempick is too shalow to ride confortably.
But there is enough water to cross the lagon to the open water (and the second laggon where the safety boat can not go).

If you do not want to go to the Movenpick, then the only alternative in El Gouna is the Mangroovy beach (kiteboarding-club, redseazone) but there is no hotel directly on that beach.
This is only an issue if you are with someone who does not kite.

There are some hotels with kite beach in Hurgahda.
I guess that those hotels are cheaper than El Gouna.
