Caye Ambergris vs. Caye Caulker, You Tell Me

G'day all,

The girlfriend and I are thinking of traveling to the Cayes in Belize in late December/early January and are trying to figure out which one would suit us better. I'm told there's kiteable wind in the Cayes that time of year but I really don't know what the wind range is at all (especially for a 93 kg rider). From her research, it seems like Caye Ambergris is a bit more lively and Caye Caulker is a bit more affordable. Can anyone on here offer some first-hand experience?

I'm not interested in "Belize sucks, come here instead." I understand there're probably better winter kite destinations but we're looking at Belize and would like some input on the Cayes. If anybody can offer some insight as to windiness, night life, costs, etc. it'd be greatly appreciated.
