Hi we're going to brazil for three weeks in January and the plane ticket has costed more than expected so we have less money left over for the rest of the trip.

Do you have any good suggestions for getting the most bang for our buck and still squeze the most fun out of our stay?

My idea is to spend a week or so in Cumbuco without a car just getting acquainted with the place. Then maybe rent a car and drive up the coast as far as we can without a 4x4 sleeping/eating at the cheapest places we can find on the way.

How would this compare pricewise to just staying in cumbuco for the three weeks?

Hi,

Prices per Day:
Room very cheap from BRL 50.- / 1 Person
Room normal price BRL 100.- to BRL 160.- / 2 Persons

Car normal BRL 70.- to 80.- (Gol, Fiat)
Car 4x4 i think BRL 250.- (but i dont`t no exactly - i never used one, with the normal car you can go everywhere)

Food very cheap from BRL 5.-
Food normal between BRL 20.- and 40.-

Here you can find the hot spots from NE Cara - there is a link to Goolge-Maps:

The coast is very nice and you can kite everywhere. In Paracuru you will find the best wave spot. In Cumbuco you will have the best mix about Kitesurfing and Nightlife with good Restaurants. Also (for me) the best mix about kitesurfing with 2 Lagoons and also very good wave conditions.

The prices are nearly the same at the cost. Mostly everywhere you will find cheap places to sleep and for food. In Cumbuco you don“t need a car!

If you need any infos...

How about finding vacancies while venturing up north towards Jeri? What I mean is that being high season will it be hard to find places to stay every two or three days without a reservation?

I live in a touristic area in spain and here if you come on high season without a reservation you could easily end up having to sleep in your car or paying a fortune to sleep in places that have availability simply because they are very overpriced.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since this would be the first time that we attempt something like this and we are a little scared. :-?

this is really hard to say.... at weekend a lot of brasilians are traveling and enjoy at the beach, so it can happen that it will be hard from friday until sunday. special close to fortaletza (until flexeiras) the brasilians are going. after that shod be easier.

normally there are a lot of hotels, pousadas around at you can find a place to stay. but you have to ask and to search!

for be save i would book the first hotel for a view days. at this time you get a lot of infos and can search in internet. we (as example) know a lot of hotels from cumbuco to jeri and recommend them. when you know your next stop we can have a look in internet and mail ore call them if they have space. and so you can handle it until jeri.... easy...

greets
