Cuba with a tight(ish) budget

Postby harppa » Sun Oct 21, 2012 3:36 pm

Have to go somewhere in the winter and found some reasonable flights to Cuba.
Any experience what is the story there? Are all the beaches part of bigger resort are that is separated from the rest of the Country?
Only possible to get all inclusive hotel accomodation or any other good choices?
Flights would be to Havana so Varadero is the closest but is it difficult to travel to more distant spots?
Which would be the best places to allso have some waves? Not much experience in Waves so won´t be looking for 10m man eaters :D
Any advices hints tips are welcomed!
