Work / Kite Surf Balance - Which cities do offer that?

Since I live in Melbourne (Australia) I have a total new view on work / life balance. I call it work / kite surf balance.

Melbourne is a city offering a great balance between your career and your most beloved sport. Living in St Kilda, 5 walking minutes from the Kite Surf Spot and 30 Tram minutes from CBD is something which I believe is hard to find on this planet. Also, there are not many cities which the economy runs so smooth, the places are safe and clean, the people are relaxed and friendly and in summer you have at least 3 out of 7 days with a nice southerly sea breeze bringing 15 to 30 knots.

I am curious, who knows other cities offering such a good ratio between career and kite surfing?

Exeter, UK.

British beer, british culture, British food, British style and a great British beach in the summer with proper British fish and chips. Exmouth down the road on the train makes for a great British day.

We avoid all this foreign rubbish at times.

San Francisco CA. Beautiful, lots of diverse kiting spots, major area for work.

I've visited Melbourne and St. Kilda's beach. You have it good there -- unfortunately I missed out on wind but it's a fantastic place

What a great question!

My vote is for Lisbon (Lisboa), earshot to Praia do Guincho and the Peniche surf mecca.

Toronto by comparison, sucks..
