South Brazil kiting.

Postby yzbob » Mon Dec 09, 2013 2:55 am

I'm heading to the south of Brazil Florianopolis / Imbituba area around Feb/March.

Off season for kiting, but is it still worth taking the kites? if i'm there for a month or so how many days do you think i could expect? I have a 7m, 9m and 12m. Guessing I can leave the 7m at home? I use both twintip and surfboard.

would be great to hear the opinion of anyone that kites down there around that time.

Thanks

bob

Does not look that good.... But I've never been there. But I do live in Brazil and know end of Feb beginning of march is normally a bad time.

But if it was me.... I would pack the 12m (biggest you have) and a board..... lol

hi, i am not familiar with Imbituba, but in Florianopolis you have to be lucky, some days you will have 15/25 knots others zero, depending on cold fronts moving by.on average, you will kite 0 to 5 days a week.flat water go to Lagoa ( lake) da Conceicao, ocean I suggest Praia do Campeche. good luck

I'm here yet a couple of days more
check my website on the blog
http://www.edmkpollensa.com/blog/
the reports are written in castellano but the pics talk by themselves
my guess: bring a big size and a 10 mts, if you want to spare the board, get a second hand surf board for little money
ah! and don't forget to visite Ibiraquera
best spot ever
