Hi Olga -
The wind started a month ago.
It is 17C now and will reach 26C this afternoon - perfect!
It depends on what you want. The kitesurfers/kiteboarders are starting to arrive and the buzz is building. Things (accommodation, car rental etc.) are a bit cheaper now as high season kicks in at the start of December. You can park easily now.
If you wait until December there will be lots of people (good vibe, but a bit more crowded, and parking starts to get a bit competitive sometimes. Plus high season rates kick in for accommodation and car rental.

Olga wrote:Hi,
Is CT worth visiting at the end of November or is it better to come later (in terms of wind / temperature)?
The wind starts in October and has been windy all month.
Fewer crowds in November ... easier to park ... cheaper car rental.
Cape Town Kite Club offering an "early bird" November discount. The others (Mystic House, Kiteworldwide Mansion, Kitekahunas may do the same ... ask them).
No reason not to come in November unless you positively want to be there at the same time as everyone else, or an event (e.g. Red Bull in late jan / early Feb) or your friends can't come in November.

Currently living in Lagos Nigeria and heading to Capetown for three weeks over the holidays. I need to get a surf board for kiting and two wetsuits. Back home l ride the 5'10" Celeritas and the channel islands dumpster diver. Looking for some suggestions on shop names that have a good rep and not just a fancy website. Wouldn't mind picking up another SS board or even something lightly used down there.
Any suggestions?
Also for those that are wondering. Lagos has surprising good kiting. August and Sept is 10 and 12 meter wind 3-5 days a week. Now I'm getting ridable wind on my 12 meter 2 days a week. I weigh 82kg. For conditions we have flat water behind the Eko Atlantic development and nice waves in August and Sept, but nothing really now.

If you want information, you have to visit
http://capetown-watersports.com/
It's pretty much all about the watersports scene in Cape Town, mostly kiting but also for SUP, windsurfing etc. It's got accommodation, restaurants, retail and rental options as well as lists of spots.
Give it visit if you've got a minute
