I'm heading to Oahu for a job June 6-9. I'll be staying in Honolulu.I'm thinking of staying an extra day or two to kite. Is there decent kiting on Oahu in June? Any kite spots you'd recommend? If so what kite sizes should I bring (I'm 205lbs and typically ride a twintip)? Can you rent boards? OR would you recommend going to Maui?
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

I don't have info. on Oahu ,Maui has plenty of rentals 1-2 miles from the beach at Kanaha both TT and SB . There can be differing views on this ... but I think Maui gets a bit more wind and the No shore beach Kanaha has good access . Ck. out Mauiwindcam.com for live feed

It doesn't matter a whole lot which month you are thinking about, in any given month you will have an average of half of the days on Oahu as kitable (if not a hydrofoiler). For Maui it would be over 90%. Good kiting spots on both islands. Chances are on Maui you would use a 9m or smaller and on Oahu you would use a 12m or larger. But no guarantees of any of this. If you ticketing and accommodation needs allowed for it, you could check the forecast 5 or 6 days before and decide then (to buy or cancel and the case may be).
