Hi guys, looking for a spot for late April /early May.
I will be traveling with a girlfriend who has recently started kites independently so ideally would like to have a slot with flat waist/chest deep water and cross onshore wind. I am planning to progress in freestyle so this conditions will also be great for me.
What I found so far by reading the forum is Turks and Caicos. The only question is wind reliability - some people say that high season runs till March with less wind in April / May. Do you guys know if May should still be good? And will I be OK on a 12m for 75kg rider?
Another option is Mauritius where we have been last May. However, the Le morne lagoon is not as friendly for beginners given large number of people on the water.
Any other suggestions? Maybe something in Europe?

Hi
I was in Turks and Caicos in march/april and it was the best kitesurfing I ever had in my life. Its Carribien so the wind will be there good also in May I believe.
U can ask on facebook some locals..kite school and so..
Take some accomodation on the long bay beach, then U can kitesurf withouth going long distances. U only need a car to go in the town because long bay is like middle of the nowhere but If you are going with girl then U will be ok. U have only few kiters on watter so U have lot of space for practice.
Its expensive in there like s..t but...thats life
Look on this :

I am planing to go in april/may also somewhere, I have seen, read that Seychely are very good in that time...so will see
Bye bye

TX Coastal Bend - I second SPI and add the greater Corpus Christi area. Compared to most other 1st world destinations, both are dirt cheap. At both Corpus and SPI, you have miles and miles of waist to chest deep water. Just a 10 minute drive away you have a jetty break for the prevailing SE wind. Corpus sweetens the deal with two other jetties [SPI has one, but it's a tough drive] that work on cold front wind, along with other deep water Bay launches that work in just about any wind direction.

Hey!! I would really recommend you going to Dakhla, in Morocco.
The wind is side shore. I learnt kiting there, in Dakhla Attitude Hotel (
www.dakhla-attitude.ma). And the classes were super good. There was security and advice at all times.
There is wind pretty much all year long, and may specially is super good. There is wind for 7's, 9's and 12's (but not that much).
It is in a lagoon and not open ocean, so super good for learning, and it's shallow at the start.
Hope you find it useful!!
