Alternative to brazil, november-december

Postby Wingyam » Thu Aug 09, 2018 2:46 am

Hi, me and some friends are planning a trip from mid november to the beginning of december.
I know november is rough but we are looking for a destination with reliable winds and some flat water options. We try to stay away from the caribbeans and brazil to try something different..
We were thinking about dakhla or Paracas in Peru. How good is the wind at this time of the year in Morocco?
Any other suggestions? Brazil was amazing but were are loking for an new adventure where we can ride almost every day!
Thank you All!

ape Town. Statistically November is the windiest month (measured as number of days in % above Beaufort 4).

There is a flat water lagoon at Langebaan (Shark Bay). Note that the "sharks" here are tiny dogfish, so do not worry haha.

November is a great month to visit Cape Town ... the flower are in bloom and amazing (road trip!), the tourists just starting to arrive to everyone fresh and happy; not crowded; flights and accommodation are cheaper; and hot enough but not too hot!!

Thanks for the info, we were also considering Cape Town...
Is Langebaan good for praticing new tricks or does it get really choppy and crowdy?

Heard that Witsand is also a must for flat water? Any other hot spots in the area that we should try?

Thanks

Hi Langebaan gets busy between Dec 27 and mid Feb but even then if you get past the schools and crowds near the shore there is usually space in the middle of the lagoon. But everything in life is relative ... it is never as busy as Tarifa in July haha.

Witsand is nice but is a long drive from Cape Town. Can be fun to spend the night there and drive back next day.

There is also a flat water spot just past Hermanus.

Best wishes + good winds,

BA

Western Australia has more than enough wind and places to look for adventure.

Busy yes, expensive too, but hey, we still have drinking water ;)

If you are looking for a cool destination Peru it´s an awesome one, you can kite in Paracas (south lima) and in Mancora north peru. Here you can kite with dolphins and even whalesand shark whales..awesome!!!
