Oh wow...yes, sounds like it.
I will check with locals...but that would kill kiting on Boracay for sure.

Maybe 100 meters rule is only on white beach? (opposite side of the island of bulabog beach)

Just read an article stating:

Among the new restrictions:

- A ban on beachside drinking, smoking, bonfires and barbeques
- A prohibition on pets, umbrellas and beach chairs
- No more water sports, including jet skiing, kite-boarding, and for the time-being, scuba diving
- The closure of the island's three casinos
- No more plastic straws, cups or bottles allowed on the island
- Official approval is now needed to build sand castles
- Public vomiting is verboten

Dunno how legit it was though, it seems that watersports might still be allowed in designated zones.

There is also this CNN article: https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/bora ... index.html

Not banned !

They just opened the season!
the problem is the motorboats. not the divers, sailing boats and kitesurfers.

Can anyone post some updates? Is everything as it used to be in relation to kitesurfing?

Is it beginner friendly? Thanks!

Yes, all normal !

E-jeepney? I hope they banned all these noisy and stinky trikes (forgot their names).
Several local kite business owners already suggested many years ago to make all vehicles E on the island...mayor didn’t listen...hope that changed now. It got really annoying and bad for health and nature.

As bad as the new president is, as good he did for Boracay now. A change was needed!

How is the Boracay nightlife after the re-open? I'd like to go out and grab a beer after kiting....maybe bump into a girl

If no nightlife then 50% of tourists wouldn’t go 😁

Should be normal!
