Hi Guys,
here some infos and images from my trip to Cabarete:
If you have wind, which normally there is a lot and many days, but I was very unlucky, Cabarete is a nice spot.
Many kiters from all around the world. Outside at the reef you have nice waves with flat water to get speed for the ramps.
Warm air and water!
First I stayed at the Playa del Oro Hotel directly at kitebeach.
Conny and Rick are very nice hosts. Directly next to the beach bar of the Playa del Oro is Kitexcite, a certified school and rental place.
The most people know Marina from Kitexcite, since she is in this forum and answering all questions regarding Cabarete.
Playa del Oro Hotel, Kitebeach
Beautiful view over the pool, beach bar and kitebeach of the Playa del Oro Hotel. The hotel has about 25 room, and 2 with this beautiful view
Playa del Oro has a garden in which you can clean and dry your kites.
Rick is working on a storage right there for kites and boards so you don't need o bring it to your room all the time.
This is the view from the normal room and the balkony

here the area for kiting with a flatwater area and outside is a reef with very flat water and beautiful waves. At lowtide you have sometimes watch if the reef is not too shallow. The wind comes normally from the right side and is sideshore to side-on.
next to the Playa del Oro Hotel is the Kitebeach Hotel.
Here some images
The I stayed 3 nights at the Caracol Appartment Hotel.
It has a beautiful garden, is close to Cabarete downtown.
The beach is less crowded with kiters and shortly it will have abig kitesurf center with testings and school. A so called Kiteclub.
The beach is 100m away from the Caracol
Here is a nice BBQ place where kiters from around the world meet and grill together.
The pool
This was my room with a small kitchen and living room.
Also a refrigerator!
My bedroom with AC
The view from my balkony into the quiet garden with a lot of shadows!
The manager of the Caracol, Roch (here in a black T-Shirt) shows us the beach front property where soon the new kitecenter/club will be build.
And here the beach (Pozo Beach) with the view to the right shows the worldcup area

Crazy traffic. Normally you ride with the motorbikes from hotel to Cabarete and back. at the backseat without helmet...
I think very dangerous and I never felt happy with it...
Specially if guys drive about 140 km/h or 80 mph and don't havethe control over it.
See what happens:
With the team from kite-boarding.de we went to the blue moon restaurant up in the mountains. Unique restaurant, since you have to sit on a pillow and no plate and you eat with the fingers. Some kind of indian food.

here you can view a beautiful sunset
The Russians.....from the Ukraine, living in NY, with Stacey from the US, who just got hooked on kiteboarding at the Caracol beach
