2003 Litewave 136 Any Info?

Postby SkyScrab » Sat Jun 14, 2003 10:53 am

Hi @ all.

I´m interested it this Board. But there are still some open questions:
How much does it weight?
What is the price for europe?
Does the board come with footstraps and pads?

What will be the using range for me with a 12 m² projected Kite and 67 Kg´s?

Thx for your help!

greets

Ferdinand

PS: I´ve allready seen the 3 min Video :-)

I'm guessing the 136 weighs about 6 lbs w/out straps, which is how it comes. It does come with nice fiberglass fins, not like the plastic ones on last years model. I weigh about 75kg and I can ride with my 11.5 Globerider in as little as 15kts on my 136. It planes very quickly for such a small board. It feels really good in chop, and carves very smooth. I'm definitely happy with it.
I can't help you with the Euro price, try contacting Dave:

I'm using what Litewave calls wake-straps. Its a wide footstrap with a contoured footpad (super comfy). You can get them with or without the alum. base plate. I use the sticky kind without the base plate. I think its a little lighter this way. The only drawback is that you cant change the possition like the one with the base plate. I used to use the sandal bindings due to a foot injury a couple years ago. I just switched back to footstraps about 5 months ago and I'm really happy with these.
Hope this helps. :thumb:

Aloha
Well, the only board I am riding, light winds, strong winds is the 136
with straps and the thin surf board style foot pads.
I like those, since they are real light, and do not soak up any water.
I have not yet tried the new foot pads from LW yet, but will get them soon.
A info video right here.
http://www.hawaiianwind.com/kitesurfing.htm
on the bottom of the page, other photos are from a LW shoot.

GK gave you all the other info already.
Thanx , Greg :thumb:

Hey, why GK, it's Globe Rider, not Globe Kites
They should really change the logo, since nobody can read it (GRK change them to GR...next generation to GR2 (?) )

Aloha
Fabs
got to go to the N-shore now, it's windy

Loaded with a pair of nice sandle bindings and a strap mine weights 5 KG.

The board comes bare (with fins & strap) and you can haggle for something to put your feet in !

In UK the shops tend to chuck in a pair of straps or pads.

Below 70 KG it will be a match made in heaven.

The new boards no-longer use the old wake board fins, LW now make their own that use the same thread screw but dont have the lug, so if you bust a fin you will have to get replacements from LW or cut the lugs of a wakeboard fin , and cut a thread.

The 136 only has 4 fins.

Wake fin = 1 screw and two lugs.
LW fin = 2 screws and no lugs.

So your pebble grinding days are over.

I like the 'danger ride this and die' warnings on the base of the board !

great board, little lighter than teh pitbull, seems to generate crazy pop off the water..dont really understand why yet, if the board feels wierd to you move your feet closer together..im 6 foot 1 and I tried my feet out far but then felt like i wasnt planing through my turns and knees hurt...moved my stance just one hole in closer together and made all the diffl. in the world.

luv the board, only complaint is that the bottom should have been canary yellow instead of black..bloody hard to find body draggin at sunset when its floating straps down. Well, i already mentioned it to Dave..maybe hell send me a flourescent orange sticker for the bottom;)

Go big, land soft, go home, dont blow, You suck, if its a blowin, im a goinl...we could make a dictionary of windriding sayings 100 pages long.

@ chirojoseph: Maybe i will try a pair of wakeplates on it, if i have any Problems.

Can´t wait testing it.

btw: I like the sentence an the bottom of the board:
"Use of this product and participation in this sport involves inherent risks of injury and death" :mosh:
