Postby cape kiter » Thu Aug 26, 2004 8:41 pm

hi all,
i am looking to get a litewave 145 mainly for light wind but i hear its a great all around board.i fly my contra 19.5m in6-10 kts with my cabrinha prodigy and get super lit with that board, but it is a bit big,not much pop and mainly i need a smaller board for travelling.i am 140 lbs so i think the litewave would be ok but would appreciate any thoughts or experinces.cheers,

at 140 you might be OK. I am 190 and have a Pitbull 144 and its not a light wind board. Litewaves are bulletproof and last and last.

The LW 145 is a great light wind board that also has the ability to hold a good edge when the wind picks up. I would rate its ability to plane up early falls between the LW 158 and LW 169 as a reference point. The 145 is a fun board to ride and it feels like a smaller board on the water. Is it an "all around board"? Well it could be, but I would prefer to be on my 132 when the wind is up. That is mainly because the 145 is a fairly wide board which is great for low wind planing, but it makes toe side turns / riding more of a challenge. Weight is also good on the 145, being not too heavy. For light wind you can't go wrong with the LW 145.
