Definitely worth the download! (it was formally called Keyhole.com)
I've pretty much explored the world already (most killer kite spots and surf spots)... spent multiple hours on this thing. Even found kiters in it too... check the Hood River Sandbar in Oregon and J-Street Marina in San Diego...you'll see kites. I am sure there are more. If you find them, let me know.
Awesome!

Sure is, it'd be interesting to play with a custom layer of kiteboarding spots. I don't think they are too hard to setup (just lat/long coordinates).
Here's da sandbar:

I love google earth plus (was a keyhole subscriber, wish I'd known it would be free soon) and it would be rad if everyone started making kitespot layers. I've used the pictures before and inked them up manually on my tablet pc to show people where the launches are etc. Hopefully now that it's free people will use it a lot more and we'll have another invaluable resource at our fingertips.

Yes, I have a file of the kite spots... maybe we can make a place to 'place' them so others can download them.
Jeffro
PS> check out the hood river sand bar... you'll see the kiters in the pic, but you have to look close.

that was quick!
I think this year, just need to get all these GPS datas since only about the half have them...
So if you see that a beach listed on
http://www.kitebeaches.com doesn't have GPS datas and you know them, please send them!

Bye bye keyhole.com. You can do a lot with this application. Checkout "Name That Launch" and "Name That Launch Goes To Maui"
BY CLICKING HERE
Have fun with this in Kitebeaches Toby. It's powerful stuff!
YEE-HA! I see google got rid of the resolution locks on saved copies. Here come even better images!!!

)Hi,
Toby, send a mail to every kitebeach poster for this. You can also use maps.google.com which works magnifically if you don-t want to install the application.
You can do a raffle of a say... lets see board
to incentivate this.
In my opinnion, you should add a link to the maps.google.com instead of earth because maps works on any browser and the is no instaltion required!
See you!

Toby,
you should add the link to the site where you can look up the GPS data to kitebeaches. It should also be where you enter new beaches.
