If you want to have someone PAY you to enable them to become a skilled kitesurfer then, you have to ACTUALLY provide an ACTUAL service.

assisted deepwater time is the only ACTUAL service you can provide.

To show them how to rig a kite and pull that safety etc. is a clear diservice.

WHY?

Because you are going to just strand them on the beach to practise,,,,

While you go count your money.

It's a fucking racket, it's why they don't kite in california anymore,,

Crime just don't pay in the long run...

c) How to ditch that engine quick
d) How to turn it back on again
e) How to make sure it don't hurt anybody else.

I've spent around 12 hours learning this sport this summer and I have to attest to the method Fo is promoting here. I learned by first using a 3 meter kite on the beach. I then learned to body drag with the same kite and actually learned to drag upwind with it. After this, I learned how to rig and check the lines properly. I check them after connection and before launch to prevent fuckups. I then learned how to launch and land assisted. The Next step was to take this kite out (12 meter) and do hours of body dragging with it. My friend (who has taught me out of the goodness of their heart) followed me with a jet ski and tossed me a board. I then spent around 2 hours learning to ride. I can re-launch the kite, I can drag back to the board and I can handle the kite on the beach. I'm barely able to get up and ride a few feet without either sinking or getting launched, but when you are out in the middle of a body of water, getting launched is not scary, it's fucking FUN !!! The way I learned is not exactly how fo has presented but it included a HELL of a lot of deep water time and it is invaluable.
