is the uk uniques in that it has distributors who also own business which competitively retail the products that they import, whilst still selling to other reatilers who they are in direct competition against.

aside from best i dont know of any. The main companys North, Naish are distributed by North sports they dont do any retailing, RRD is distributed by cabal they dont do retail, ss no retail. I think caution might have an online shop but thats about it.
I know of Some board distributors that sell wholesale and retail.

Nope/yes,
you will find similar situations in far off remote places, that have no contact to the mainline distributor channels, and where the big names also want to be represented.

As far as I know, there is a wholesaler in Sydney that has the exclusive rights for North and Naish, that also owns a retail shop....
But as far as I know it's not the retail store with the highest turnover....

Its the same in Germany for quite a few brands.
Although the "whilst still selling to other reatilers who they are in direct competition against"-thing doesn't happen much, because very few shops buy from them in a situation like that.

interesting rumour has it that GRF despite his protestations is quite heavily tied in with surface 2 air. the uk's self appointed cheapest slinsghot retailer.
i wonder how many slinsghot retailers are happy with the idea of GRF and angelo potentially working together to corner the market whilst they wait for their pre-orders.

JV, nice to see that the hypocracy of GRF laying into me and best for going diurect to retail and then he goes and does the same thing himself is entirely missed on you....
can you not smell the hypocracy of him claiming to have nothing to do with angelos retail business, whilst in reality he's a director of the same business...
i suspose with your own nose so far us his arse, you've got used to the smell of bullshit....
