Hi guys.
I am going to Florida at end of Feb (Clermont) and wondered who to seek out regarding Kite Surfing Lessons.
I have been landboarding for a year but never Kite Surfed.
I have emailed kitemare.com at Cocoa beach but they hardly every reply, so slighlty off-putting!
Can anyone recommend someon within 100 miles of Clermont/Orlando?
Thanks.

DominicH-
I live in Clermont and the closest place to get kite lessons is Cocoa (1 hr away). Contact Kris Vannostran at 321-917-2630. He teaches at the 520 slick in Cocoa (all waist deep water) and uses a chase boat.
Another option is Tampa/St Pete 2+ hours away. Contact Watersports West at 888-401-5080.
Send me a PM if you need more info.

Hi there,
I train in Jacksonville. All gear is included in the 6 hour lesson given in two three hour sessions. Check out the ocean extreme kites web page. They are located in St. Augustine and have one of the best shops on the East Coast. Feel free to contact me directly. 904-424-2721. I train at Huguenot Park. It has huge sandy beaches and big marine pond. I even provide a jet ski if we need it. But most of my students learn to ride in knee to waist deep smooth water. Getting good professional training is absolutly the right way to go. It will keep you from hurting yourself, someone else or trashing that new expensive kite. Good luck with your lessons no matter who you choose.

Thanks alot, is the Cocoa Beach one kitemare.com? As they never seem to reply if it is which is a bit off putting, if its another school Ill try them.
If not Tampa wil be fine.
I think Ft.Lauderdale and St.Augustine, will be a bit too far to drive though.

No. This is not Kitmare. Kris is an independant that gives lessons. He is very flexible and responsive when you contact him.
Another option in Cocoa is Laitham Kellum. Check out his website at
http://www.321kite.com.
Both guys provide gear and a chase boat.
