Suing instructors individually? Sounds like an excercise in futility...

Water time...call it 'time in the water'
Ground control....i don't even know what it refers to pick a different description.

Write them back and tell them to piss off...

Why the new user name?...and why is your post written like a retarded 8 yr old?

Unless they copied the lesson plan and stupidly kept the same name for the modules...
Guess we might not know for a while: when in litigation, both sides are generally advised to keep their mouth's shut.

yes I also heard about this and its true and a complete disgrace!!! why a shop would sue other shops over something as trivial as a Name is beyond my comprehension. Real plays dirty, they skip the fight and just trow dirt in the guys face. pathetic, by the way KHK and Ocean are not the only ones getting the 'real' treatment!!!

Anyone remember the days when we were all friends in this business?? wasn't too long ago that we were happy having fun and making a living- now guys just want to get rich!

and Yes this is not my real member name for a reason.

If true, then we have a "REAL" bunch of jerks in our midst.

If not true, then sincere apology to all.

This situation has nothing to do with copy right issues and everything to do with REAL's antagonistic towards anyone they precieve as competition or a threat. REAL is now using bullying corporate tactics to intimidate anyone they perceive as any kind of threat to their business. Matt Nuzzo's sister who is a lawyer joined Real a couple of years so it seems like they are using any 'legal' approach they can to strong-arm any competition. The next thing you know kiteboarders won't be able to use works like 'kiteboarding' or 'water' without paying REAL a royalty or risk getting sued! It's important to point out here that some of these people REAL are suing are barely eeking out a living teaching kiteboarding and also that some of them are actually friends of Matt and Tripp.

REAL started off with the right attitude and the right approach but somehow lost their way. They seem more interested in their own personal gain than in the sport now. Maybe they've just had to answer one too many annoying questions about kiteboarding or maybe it's just the Trust Fund sense of entitlement that both Trip and Matt have always had. Who knows...

Regardless of what has prompted this situation REAL has now become more of a liability to the sport of kiteboarding than an asset. It's not just in regards to these absurd law suits (which have no real legal legitimacy anyway). REAL has a reputation for screwing their employees and their fair share of customers any way they can including making promises they never intend to keep. (Just ask any ex REAL employee). Now they are extending that attitude to anyone who seems to be making a living from the sport. It's not like Tripp and Matt aren't getting rich enough!!!

It's unlikely that any of this bad press will seriously damage REAL in any way as their business seems to be built on first timers who are uneducated and uniformed by about the sport. The sport's popularity now has a momentum of it's own. it's just a shame that a company that once seemed to spread a good vibe has now become an ugly company that will (quite literally) sue it's own friends in order to try and keep its self-perceived position as top dog in the sport.

The veil has been lifted on REAL.
