I feel like an impoverished minimalist.

9m Best Cabo. 11-17 kts
7m Best Cabo. 15-23 kts

That’s it. 85 kg. OBX resident. $700 invested in both kites and a bar (2015 models, essentially new)
Makes your choices simple and your gear light!

Well, im still testing stuff, so currently:

- Waiting deliver of R1V2 17m
- Ozone Chrono V2 UL (got it 2 months ago and discovered how good foil kites are in lighwinds) -> Probably to be replaced already with R1V2 13m
- Storm Voyager V3 12m (never used it again after i got the Chrono V2 UL, but its a very good lightwind kite for those who dont like foil kites)
- Rebel 10m
- Ocean Rodeo Flite 8m ( i will replace the rebel and the flite soon for something else, still testing)
- Naish Ride 6m (also to replace, dont know with what yet)

Regarding the hidrofoil, ive all the 2017 moses wing range and ofter change between them, normally using race wings with the big kites, and wave/freeride wings in stronger winds.

I weight 190 lbs 86 kg and ride Zeeko Mini pocket strapless with carbon foil and carver wing. Mostly ride bumpy bays and ocean waves. 10mph to 40mph winds.

Kites are:
4m North Neo favorite foil conditions when lit on this kite
5.5m Zeeko Notus
7m Zeeko Notus
8m Zeeko Notus Air
10m Naish Boxer

I own more kites but mostly pack these kites when I travel locally.

I mostly use the 10m Boxer, 7m Notus and 4m Neo these days.

95kg, mostly flat or choppy waters on Zeeko BW. No wave riding.

15m Ultra, 6-11 knots
12m Notus Air, 9-13 knots
9m Ultra and 9m Apollo, 12-20 knots
7m Element 5 and 7m Chrono v2, 18+ knots
Above 25 knots tt only.

Apollo and Chrono for rare long distance cruises. Ultra 9m is my favorite.

I can not answer on his behalf, but for me a good and not heavy 9 m2 (just like the Ultra) is also my favorite hydrofoil kite :thumb:

It turns fast, it has maybe the biggest windrange of all sizes for the average rider, and you can ride from just under 10 knots and up to a lot, so also useable on more lazy summerdays eventhough not marginal wind (which is a whole other ballgame IMO).

Jumps got hangtime, and still nimble and lively for riding waves or tight carves or freestyle, such an awesome "allround" do-it-all size.

So for me, a 9 m2 is such a great size too

I would totally agree with that too. I was mostly curious about the Ultra in particular and how it behaves. I have a North Fuse 10m that has been my goto kite for the last 5 years but I was cruising along in the summer thinking to myself what an absolutely great kite it has been when I flipped off my foil and slammed the kite into the water tearing it in half. Flew it back to shore ,foiling. lol. I had been too overpowered anyway! So time for a replacement...

Will recap my current quiver at this very moment:

77 kg, mostly choppy waves when above 10 knots, and sometimes good or really good waves when above 15 knots.

ELF Joker 11.2 m2 race foilkite, 5-7 knots, used rarely now but on occasion summerdays
Storm Strutless Voyager IV 12 m2, 6½-9 knots
Zeeko One Strut Notus Air 12 m2, 7½-10 knots
Takoon Furia 9 m2, 10-12 knots
Takoon Furia 8 m2, 12-14 knots
Takoon Furia 7 m2, 14-15½ knots
Takoon Furia 6 m2, 15-18 knots
Takoon Log 5 m2, 18-22 knots
Takoon Log 3.5 m2, 23+ knots

3 feet skimboard, only used for fun very rare.
My most used boards -
Ketos Pocket 118
Ketos Pocket 130
Takoon Flyer 148
and finally a North Race LTD 175 for sub 8 knots winds.

All ridden almost always strapless but with optional straps possible for the last 4.

Masts: Short, medium, normal/long which is 80, 90, and 100 cm for me, using 90 and 100 mostly, only 80 on rare dead onshore sub 8 knot days.
Ketos wings: Easy (medium-high AR 805 cm2), Free (high AR 595 cm2), WaveXL (low AR 790 cm2), Wave (low AR 570 cm2) and a small 523 cm2 fast racewing only for occasional jumping with straps, but used very rare.
3 stabilizers: Medium, Small, Supersmall.
And 2 fuselages so you can change a "Flyer" on the spot one screw only if you want.

As all boards using same box and 1 screw connections board-mast-fuselage, everything interchangeable wings/masts/boards :thumb:

4 bars, 2 with lines 26-27 m normally and for heavy wind/small kites (one is used a lot so the other as spare), one bar with 30-31 meter for lighter winds sub 10, and an always connected bar with 32 m lines on the foilkite.
