Most of the good foils (freeride and race) can go at 30 knots.

It's how fast upwind and at a mental angle that shows the real race foils. Downwind as well.

Follow someone good and it will blow your mind!

Hej Peter,
No wind this weekend, really busy at work, preparing for going to Tokyo for work Jan 24- feb1. Won't be motivated Feb 3-4 with jet lag and then leaving feb9.

Maybe on a trip I'll do some foiling in Japan...

Aaah, that makes sense and what I thought :thumb:

Skandinavians are usually not picky about cold conditions... LOVE summer and when its warm, but do not bail out when a bit colder :D

Have a nice trip to Cabarete

Off topic now, but Peter, I'm not Scandinavian or Swedish. I grew up in Los Angeles and moved to Sweden 34 years ago in May. I came here for the low taxes, fantastic climate and high paying jobs.... :o

I received the 590 wing. It is not that much larger. Perhaps 20-40 cm2 if I take a guess. Be good if Moses gave us this information.

The wing is swept back more has anhedral and no anhedral at the tips.

The profile is still pretty slim with the thickest part of profile pretty far back and the trailing bottom surface not concave.

Won't get out on it till 2nd week in February in cabarete.

.
I'd be really interested to know how it flies. Looks to be lower aspect that the 550 I got with my slingy ghost whisperer.
I saw a new slingshot wing that Fred hop was using. Had some winglets on it. Looked super cool.

Anyone been able to ride that and have some feedback?

I'm pretty sure the wing on the ghost whisperer is not the 550 wing, but the 558.
Moses wings have this progression: 590-548-550-558-637.

The problem is, that it looks likle Moses will not be allowed to register it for Formula Kite events.

If possible, could you please elaborate on this if you know more?

I thought the release was just too late for the registration last year, and that it would be included for this season.
This is the official stance from the IKA on freezing the current (2017) Equipment list:

The plan is unchanged to freeze equipment for 3 years in the Formula Class (next new equipment eligibility for after the Olympics 2020). A lot of riders are sick of buying new stuff every year, and waiting half of the time for the delivery.

Source? Would be sad if that is the case now that there are some formula kite events planned in France and Denmark. Not going to buy a second set of kites and foils to compete there and obtaining a Mike's Lab is virtually impossible if you want to be somewhat competive as that is the fastest registered 2017 foil.

So the coming years you need to have two complete sets of racing gear if you want to compete in both the open development and formula classes?

So a the foil builders are gonna keep producing an old foil purely to satisfy the dicks at world sailing and those that wish to appease them buy making out that competitive sport is cheap and all encompassing.

I cant wait to see ozone and flysurfer churning out tiny numbers of a three year old design so that four people can go racing in 2020.

I hope they tell world sailing to f*** off,

Foil racing is a development class, sanitising and stifling development and growth in such a young sport is fatal.

Given the choice between the top racers using the latest highest performance gear or getting them to jump on three year old Foils and kites what do you think they are going to choose?

Email from the IKA to all manufacturers.
