You can still drink tapwater. No fighting, yet.

My family in CT said the tap water started tasting weird at least 6 months ago.
It is possibly still safe to drink, but I doubt many people still do. When the water tastes funny it is the first sign that it is not safe to drink.

Suppose it might be localised, but Randburg tap water is pretty fine!

You mean taps or filters?
We just generally load up a bucket from the 'ole well in the middle of the village. Drop in a couple drops of bleach and you're sorted..

What a crock from the rumormongers and sillies. Cape Town tap water is excellent. I just got back from my usual six weeks and drank it all the time. Just refill a water bottle with it. I absolutely refuse to buy bottled water. I even drank the tap water I had left in various 1 liter fruit juice bottles in the boot of my car in my garage since last January. And this time left 50 liters of tap water in 5l water bottles I scrounged from our plastic bottle recycling bin in my garage in case the rains don't come this winter so I will have some water next summer.

You also kite in Evian Still? There's more ecoli in your local dam water and most coastal spots than in your tap water.

well when the Vaal river count of Ecoli is 57940 counts per 100ml when High Risk of Severe Gastrointerstinal disorders start at 400 counts/100ml I try to stay away from watersports ... but yeah I'm sure Ecoli is no biggie

I had a dose of the worse shitz ever in CPT in jan 2012
The local doctor said it could have been due to the water as bad stomach outbreaks occur when reservoir levels get very low.

No problems previous times though.
