Anyone else find the standard 55-60cm bar too long for the smaller sizes ie 8-10-12?
The kite just turns too damn quick !

I find the 8 to turn too quick with it. For the 12 and 10 it is fine for me. I think it's all a matter of getting used to it. In my area the winds are rarely in the 8 range. I'm sure, though, that if I lived on Maui, I would be used to it and it would be fine as well.

yeah I can manage, but if you do a big one handed jump, with you hand as close to the depower line as you can, by the time I come down again(a while), the kite has turned too much, and is doing a big dive downwind, I still land them ok, but I could have more hangtime if it stayed above me longer..

Hey aklbob why don't you just use the slow setting on the kite..... at that setting it slows the kite response down to a more normal level... or do you allready use the slow setting???

I am used to using my small bar with my 8.4 Wipi AB, as that was fairly fast too, next time I will use micro bar (35cm)...

Me too, I find the 60cm bar too long for the 10. A 45 would be more like it, I think.
On the other hand, the 14 works well on the 60. The 20, too.

Hey aklbob I used the 12m X2 in 20 knots the other day.... It is pretty fast but not outa control. Care does need to be taken when jumping with this kite as you will go higher and stay up there longer than with previous kites and hence you have more time to put the kite in the wrong place... remember it IS a kite for experts...

I'm only jumping higher now because of the X2... my jumping skills are still pretty crap... so I don't see how me and aklbob are "over rating ourselves".

The X2 is a very fast turning kite... very fast in the fast setting, moderately fast in the slow setting. In 20 knots the kite turns fast even when sheeted out... this I assume may be due to the kite flying on the front lines....

It's an extremely good kite.... as for the bar size.... if unsure I guess you could get a shorter bar... it wouldn't hurt... I definately wouldn't want to muff a jump with this kite as it has SOOOO much lift...

Enjoy it's power
