Anyplace still have snow? It's been pretty warm and would love to snowkite but we may be skunked. Anyone have any suggestions?

Was just up to Great Sacandaga Lake (NW of Albany) yesterday and conditions are "No go" unless you want to wear a wetsuit or get very wet. Basically 3 + inches of standing water on top of the ice/slush mess. Temps have been near 50 since Monday so until we get a freeze and then snow its game off unless you want to ride in dry/wetsuit :o
We thought about it as it was blowing W 20 to 25 and 50 degrees but decided against it since we prefer scotch in our ice water.
Don't know about Champlain but imagine its very similar

I have to agree...I think we may be closer to the "water season" now than we are to the "snow season."

I am in NYC and would be up for kiting on Sunday if the weather changes. What is Wallenpaupac like?

Spoke to some people up at Lake Wallenpaupack...not good. I was told that the ice is very thin...I'll pass on that but open to other suggestions.

See my post in northeast kiters any game this forum. Ice here is great (snowmobilers were on it yesterday) and its snowing right now as I look out the window with a few inches expected today. Grerat Sacandaga Lake is about 4 hrs from NYC, all Thruway except for the last 20 or 30 miles.
