FYI, I just got back from a 2 week stab at having a holiday for me and the missus and kiting at the same time. I f anyone else is planning a simillar trip - crete is not the place. winds are really gusty and swing NW WNW and N and W throughout the day.
I know that the Maltemi was ending and the westwind was coming in but still only 30 mins kiting in 2 weeks. not good.
choose another island at this time of year. I cant speak for the rest of the year but the locals told me that this was the wind signature.
Shame. next time - CORSICA.
