Hi Guys n girlz,
At the moment I'm using 170 x 40 TT from 8-15 knots and I'm going to get a smaller board to use from 12-25 (hardly ever gets over 25 here). I was thinking of the Wipika Mystery 150 x 40 or something similar.
It has to be good upwind.
Any ideas?
Thanks 4 now.
Jo

I can suggest the Wavetray, but I need your weight to propose a size.

Mike

Yeah right Mike,
I weigh 75 odd kgs and I'm flying Slingshot Fuels, 16 + 12m from 10-25 knots, + a big foil in light winds.
You thinking about a 147 Wavetray?
Only prob is Underground boards are a bit hard to get here in Italy, suppose I could get one on the net, even direct from underground.
Thanks.

Hi Jo!

At 75 odd kg's you might want to look at the WT 142 ( a new size that hasn't been out that long!). Considering it is going to be your "powered up" board you could even possibly go for a WT137!

I'm 95 odd kg and ride a WT147 all the time - I don't believe you need a 147!

I don't think underground would have a problem shipping to you, all their details are on there website... undergroundkiteboards.com

I am 77kg and after testing a number of boards, including WT147, I am a firm believer that the X-Shooter 144 board is the best you can get under your feet to date!

Callum knows what he's talking about, I totally agree with him on the wavetray size.

I know guys at 85kg who are perfectly happy with their WT142 as their all round board. I'm 65kg and I'm happy with my WT137.

So, at 75kg you can go either way and be fine. I have a feeling that you will want to use the wavetray ALL the time so better go for the 142

I represent Underground in Cyprus and can ask Adrian if he can make you a WT140 just to split the difference!

Regards,
Mike

Thanks for admitting you're selling them Mike, very correct.
A lot of people do seem to rate Underground.
Dunno about the size though, around here we get a lot more 10-15 and a lot less 15-25 knots unfortunately and as you said I'd probably want to use the smaller board all the time. I'm aiming at using it with the 16m from 12-18/20 and the 12m from 15-25, keeping the 170 for 8-15.
You reckon the 142 and not the 147? Web site sez 147 for 12-16m and 142 for fully powered 12m which would be 15+, that would be missing a lot of days around here.

Considering that you'll keep the bigger board for the light wind days, I still think that the WT142 would do fine Jo. You can always switch to the bigger board if you feel the need. The wavetrays are fast and powerful boards so don't be scared from their small length. I know the site says 147 for 12-16 kites, but I think Adrian had a heavier rider in mind. I use my WT137 at the low end of my Toro 14 and I'm fine. It will be similar to when you will be using your 16 (since you're heavier than me) with the WT142. The only concern I have is if you get a lot of 12 knot days which will make you struggle with the 16, but then you would switch to the bigger board. When blowing anything above that and you'll be thanking me!

Mike

Ok, thanks for your help Mike, I'm just having problems with the idea of using a board only 133 cm long, the 147 is only 138 really, hmmmm. Gears turning.
