Last couple of days I had two great sessions on my 2004 16,5 GXR.
Both sessions the wind was a bit gusty, with long and predictable gustst varying from 11 to 20 knots.

Kite is of excellent builld quality. Great details, nice materials.

Safety, just look at my remarks on the 8m GXR 2004. Works fine but wrong shackle IMO. Spinnable and easy to unwind because of the two line set-up.

First of all I have to say that this one unfortunately also jellyfishes. You see the kite wobling but hardly feel it in the bar. If you give it a little more pressure on the bar the wobling stops. It doesn't like splitsecond gusts however.

The big difference with my 2003 GXR is that it pulls a lot more. Way more grunt in the low wind area. Depower is still very good and very effective but I think it lost a bit on high end.

It is also more stable in the air. You can fly it no hands for a much longer period than the 2003.

Jumping is really, really nice. Quite high and very floaty, more so than last years. The only problem I have is that while in the air it tends to be a bit more sluggish. You really have to direct it forward again. Took some time to get used to. The kite stays more or less where you park it.

It steers very accurate and direct, recently had an experience with an old 9mtr Naish ARX, what a difference. Making a looping gybe is very easy but keep your bar depowered, if you power it up you'll get the earlier mentioned grunty pull.

Relaunching is very easy. Only had to do it once but once flipped over it almost relaunches itself. Same like last years, very pleasant suprise that is does it almost automatically.

All in all very nice kite with good jumping abilities.

no tuning in the "lines" that fix that.

I bought a GXR 04 - 14m brand new.. today. with the Contact Board 141.
I really hope that the match very good!!!

I have the first series, had it since october. Newer series don't seem to have this problem.

Jellyfishing is not nice in general. Especially not in overpowered situations.

Yep the good old Netherlands.
Local wind is pressure system based.
Windguru is pretty good if you want to see windprediction.
Kitebeaches is perfect for the right spots.
