what would be the best places to add a few fins to a wakeboard? i know i should just buy a kiteboard, but i want to do this first until i get enough money. also, do i need to seal the inside of the holes that i drill with an epoxy or something, or will they be alright?

Hi Rob,

did you try the wakeboard before? Didn't it work? If you have a good edge, you don't need so many fins.

hey rob!

as far as i know, u gotta insert a metal pipe into the hole which will be glued there with epoxy.

but pay attention:

a standard-wakeboard has much more rocker than a kiteboard - this will be better in big waves for very experienced kiters but it won't be easy to go upwind.
a friend of mine upgraded his board from 2 to 6 fins - he just gave the board to a surfshop... it wasn't that expensive.

yea, i have used it before behind a kite, and it felt really loose. i was sliding all over the place. i couldn't really go up wind, but it might of just been me. it is a hyperlite vero 143 by the way.

did you ride a twin tip before?
these tiny fins don't really help that much ...

when first riding a board that needs to be edged hard, this happens to nearly everyone who hat the guts (or insanity -> decide for yourself) to buy a radical board....

me and my twin did the same thing before winter started....
