Kite Beach, Cabarete - 10 to 30 knots depending on time of the year, reef protected for mostly flat water inside 200 meters, wave riding on reef.
La Boca and Las Terrenas - good flat water riding on the NOrth Coast of the DR
Arroyo Laguna, California - 10 to 25 knots, killer wave riding, great marine life (dolphins, elephant seals, occassional otter)
Oceano, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, San Simeon, CALIFORNIA - 10 to 25 knots, killer wave riding

Hi Italians,
Is there also good kiting up in the northern adraitic? Reason I ask is I will be in italy this winter and spring for a few work trips. Mostly out of Marina Del Ravenna and was wondering if it was worth it to bring kites along and make a vacation.
Or would it better to head south to somewhere warmer and windier. How is southern italy in winter (feb)? warm enough for light westuits or is it cold? Consistent wind???

Hi Peter,
Marina di Ravenna is just down the road from here (30 klicks), good spot in spring and autumn. Winter will be cold and probably foggy in February. Any wind will mostly be stormy onshore 15-30 with messy waves and on the rare side so if you decide to bring any gear I'd suggest a 12m kite (but it depends how much you weigh obviously), small board and a good wet suit, not to mention a full set of balls.
Check this site for wind and waves previsions
http://www.cba-analisi.it/surf/
it's pretty accurate.
If wind does come in, here in Cesenatico you can get flat water in thse conditions because a lot of the beach is protected by big wave breaker stone walls. Keep in touch and we can go out together, hot shower after too.
Southern Italy will be better or canary isles if you're into travelling.
Drop me a line when you're in the area and we'll go kiting or for a beer or whatever.
Jo
